- Champion: ensuring access to experiences for students who may not otherwise have the resources, ensuring every graduate is well-prepared for the world of work and beyond upon graduation.
Values
At the Impact Center, we believe that a student’s potential is not defined by privilege, pedigree, or zip code, but by their ability to grow, adapt, and make meaningful contributions in the world. Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences, and they bring determination, talent, and perspective that enrich both the classroom and the workforce. We know what they have to offer, and we work every day to help them see it, shape it, and share it with confidence.
While many career centers tout first destination survey results as their primary measure of success, that is not our focus. We believe that a student’s journey can’t be reduced to a single data point collected just weeks after graduation. Instead, we focus on building true career readiness: the confidence to pursue opportunities, the skills to stand out, and the clarity to choose a path that fits. We help students develop the self-awareness, professional skills, and adaptability they’ll need not just for their first job, but for their career journey.
We teach students to recognize the value in every class project, campus job, internship, and club experience. We help them connect the dots, translating what they’re doing now into language that matters to employers. We guide them as they explore careers from multiple angles, encouraging curiosity over pressure, and self-reflection over rushed decisions. Because we know that a high starting salary isn’t always the best start and that one of the most important skills in today’s world is the ability to adapt to change and recognize when it’s time to shift direction.
We do this work in collaboration with a powerful network of alumni, faculty, and staff who know our students by name and believe in what they can achieve. The Impact Center is a place of mentoring, encouragement, and celebration, a launchpad for students who are ready to lead with purpose, navigate change with confidence, and thrive in careers that reflect their values and strengths.
