What was your first professional job after you graduated? Was it related to your major? If not, how did you discover this job?
I am currently a grad student at Ohio University for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. It is related to my major as I needed to meet many requirements to apply for Physical Therapy school. I discovered this job through shadowing and my professors at Muskingum!
What do you do in your current job?
I’m currently a graduate student so I do not have a job yet but will once completing school as a Physical Therapist. This will include working with patients post-surgery, diagnosed conditions, or injuries to help them get back to their normal daily activities or recreation activities. We do this through exercise, education, modalities, and manual therapy.
What advice about working in your career field do you have for students?
Get as much experience as possible and make connections! To get accepted into Physical Therapy school you have to have so many observations hours, take certain classes, and meet requirements. If you have any questions about how to apply and get into PT school, please don’t hesitate to ask!
